KWIN LIKES K.T.Z

FALL / WINTER 2013

KTZ 2013 Fall/Winter Collection (Author: Jonathan Poh)

Headed by Marjan Pejoski and Koji Maruyama, cult label KTZ refers to Kokon to Zai, Sasko Bezovski’s umbrella of retail stores in London and Paris. In the world envisioned by the trio, form resides alongside function — though not always congruently — and is embodied in intricate workmanship, bold prints and individualist silhouettes, while inspirations have ranged from the girls of Harajuku to music and textile designer William Morris. True to form, Fall/Winter 2013 is a spectacle of high energy motifs, eclectic symbols, textures and minute detailing, punctuated by bizarre headpieces that were the handiwork of sculptural artist Rein Vollenga. From fringed detailing on blazers, shorts, and kilts to jarring all-over patterns in black and white and unexpected silhouettes, the untamed exuberance of this head-spinning collection shows that on planet KTZ, almost anything goes.
