(turn on, tune in and drop out: 깨어나 주파수를 맞추고 벗어나라.- 새로운것들을 시도하고, 함께 어울리고, 기존질서에서 이탈하자는 뜻으로 하버드 대학 교수였던 Timothy Leary가 1967년 주창하던 히피 슬로건) Daniel Palillo의 새로운 컬렉션은 디자이너 본인이 신입생이던 시절, 한 무리의 학생들이 학교 라디오국을 점령해 Beck의 Loser를 강의실과 복도에서 쩌렁쩌렁하게 틀었던 그 획기적순간에 만들어졌다. 그 음악은 Palillo에게 의미있는 노래가 되었고, 어쩌면 당신에게도 영향을 끼칠지도 모른다. 기억하세요, 될대로 되리라는 걸. 루저뿐만 아니라, 반항아도, 너드도, 고스족도, 운동하는 무리들이나 치어리더들 모두 다 그들만의 유니폼이 있습니다. 사실, Paillio는 후드, 지퍼, 플리츠, UNDERGROUND와 콜라보레이션한 클리퍼 등을 이용해 그가 기억하는 90년대의 학교 소셜씬을 그대로 사람들에게 옮겨놨다. mix of worlds and power words, 기복이 심한 청소년기의 라이프는 너무 진지하게 받아들이지 않는 것이 중요한 Palilloism 대학교에서 공유될 것이다.

Congratulations! You have been officially accepted to turn on, tune in and drop out from the University of Palilloism.Daniel Palillo’s new collection originates in an epochal moment during the designer’s own freshman year when a group of students hijacked the school radio and blasted Beck’s “Loser” all over the corridors and classrooms. Too cool for school, the song became an anthem for Palillo. May it also inspire you, the class of autumn/winter 2013, along your way.
Remember, whatever works. Not only losers, but also rebels, nerds, goths, jocks and cheerleaders get their uniforms. In fact, Palillo dresses up the entire high school social scene as he remembers it from the nineties: hoods, zippers, fleeces, and Creepers in collaboration with UNDERGROUND shoes. A mix of worlds and power words, the ups and downs of adolescent life are shared at the University of Palilloism where the point is not to take it too seriously.
